• These two contraptions are the culprits that got me into music.

The top picture is the Panasonic RX-F2 Boombox Stereo Cassette Player Recorder.  My very first boombox.  I took this everywhere and went through A LOT of "D" Batteries.  I always had my code but when you are playing outside there weren't outlets readily available, and like I said I had it with me every where.

The bottom picture was my very first stereo.  It was Soundesign 6821M Stereo System Dual Cassette, Turntable and AM/FM Radio.  I bought this at K-Mart.  Actually I put it on Lay-A-Way with money saved up doing odd jobs around the neighborhood.  Every penny I earned I took to the K-Mart in Valencia, California, that used to be located at 23222 Valencia Blvd.  One day I was called home from my friends house to help with groceries.  I told my friend I would be right back and rode my bike home.  My mom had me go out to the car and get the groceries out of the trunk.  To my surprise my parents paid the last few dollars on my stereo and surprised me with it.  Needless to say I didn't make it back to my friends house.  I set it up and then stole some of my sister's records (some of which I still have today.)

These were my very first listening devices that allowed me to lay back on the top bunk and enjoy the tunes and get carried away.  I would love to find these in pristine condition and set them up today.
